On 10 January 2009, my mother-in-law was pickpockets in the vicinity of Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple at Bugis / waterloo area. Lost about $300.
She was carrying a big bag with zipper pockets. And it seems that the pickpocket knew which pocket the wallet was in. And use something sharp to slit the bag. Thereafter, one of them accidently, bump into my mother-in-law and said sorry. She realised wallet was gone, a bit later.
Lucky for her, there was no IC or other documents in that wallet.
Maybe, when free, should go there and do a stakeout. Anyway, one of the stall lady mentioned to her that a lady lost her money to pickpocket recently also. She realised only when she was going to pay for goods and could not find her wallet.
Should we report to police on her behalf? It is too daunting for a old lady to go to police station to report pickpocket theif
